Global consulting firm Meketa Investment Group has named industry veteran and former Cambridge Associates LaRoy Brantley as a principal and consultant.

Brantley will be based in Meketa’s Boston office, the company said. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry to the company, serving in both portfolio advisor and consultant roles.

Prior to joining Meketa, Brantley served as managing director at Cambridge Associates, where he provided investment guidance to endowments, foundations, pension funds and high net worth families, with oversight of more than $5 billion in assets. Beforehand, he was an investment banker at Adams, Harkness, & Hill. He also spent seven years as a Classics instructor at the Roxbury Latin School.

“With years of providing high caliber investment counsel to a variety of clients in several asset classes, LaRoy is a great addition to our team here at Meketa,” said Peter Woolley, co-CEO and managing principal of Meketa Investment Group.

Founded in 1978 by James Meketa, Meketa Investment Group is an employee-owned, full service investment consulting and advisory firm.  As an independent fiduciary, the firm serves institutional investors in discretionary and non-discretionary roles. The company consults on more than $450 billion in assets for over 150 clients whose aggregate institutional assets exceed $900 billion.
