BTIG Names Popham Head Of U.S. Cash Equities

Institutional brokerage company BTIG has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of former JP Morgan executive Corey Popham as head of U.S. cash equities. 

In his new role, Popham will work closely with the capital markets, research, and sales and trading divisions to generate new business and expand the delivery of products and services to existing clients, the company said in a statement. He will be based in New York and report to Richard Blank, Jr., head of global equities at BTIG.

Prior to joining BTIG, Popham spent more than a decade at JP Morgan, most recently as head of high-touch trading for the Americas within their global equities division. Beforehand, he was a director within the Equity Trading Group at Credit Suisse, where he began his career as an analyst in 1999. 

At BTIG, Mr. Popham joins a growing team of more than 125 experienced equity sales professionals across the U.S, and within affiliate locations in London, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney, the company added.
