Alternative asset manager Bow River Capital Partners has raised $262 million in capital commitments for its fourth buyout fund, exceeding the pool's $200 million target.

The new fund, named the 2017 Fund, was oversubscribed and received strong support from a diverse group of institutional and individual investors, the company said in a statement. It will invest in lower middle market privately held companies in the central U.S. and Canada where Bow River is typically the first institutional capital. Targeted sectors include infrastructure, engineering, healthcare, and industrial business services.

Formed in 2003 by Blair Richardson and Eric Wolfe, Bow River Capital Partners is based in Denver and separately sponsors investment vehicles in energy and real estate.
