Bank of New York Mellon Investment Management has named former Mercer executive Deborah Bannon as its head of consultant relationships and client services for the Asia-Pacific region.

In her new role, Bannon will manage the company’s relationships with consulting firms, many of which have prioritized the Asia-Pacific region as crucial to future growth in alternative asset allocations. She will be based in Hong Kong.

Prior to coming aboard at BNY IM, Bannon was executive director and investments business leader for Mercer Investments (HK), a position she left in late 2016. Before she joined Mercer in 2012, Bannon was with Pioneer Investments Hong Kong as head of the company's institutional business in Asia.

BNY Mellon is a global investments company providing financial services for institutions, corporations or individual investors. As of March 31, 2017, the company had $30.6 trillion in assets under custody and/or administration, and $1.7 trillion in assets under management.
