AllianzGI Taps MetLife's Mahajan For U.S. Investment Strategy Role

Global active asset manager Allianz Global Investors has named former MetLife Investments executive Mona Mahajan as the company’s new U.S. investment strategist.

In her new role, Mahajan will serve as a key spokesperson and thought leader for AllianzGI in the U.S., the company said, helping to shape and communicate the firm’s “House View” on the markets. She will report to to Neil Dwane, AllianzGI’s global strategist.

Mahajan joins AllianzGI from MetLife Investments, where she was a portfolio manager and product specialist for the structured finance fixed income strategy. In this role, she was responsible for portfolio management, relative value strategy, tactical positioning, client relationship support and marketing. She has more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, spanning portfolio management, global market strategy, public and private equity, emerging markets, thought leadership and client relationship management. 

Prior to MetLife, Mahajan was with Mirae Asset Global Investments, where she was an emerging markets strategist, according to her LinkedIn profile. She held stints at Para Advisors and Ziff Brothers Investments earlier in her career.

AllianzGI oversees some €34 billion in alternative assets (including equity long/short, merger arbitrage, derivatives, volatility, global macro, absolute return, private debt, and infrastructure-related equity and credit strategies) on behalf of institutional and retail investors. Part of German insurance giant Allianz, the firm as a whole manages more than $569 billion for individuals, families and institutions worldwide.
