Ogier Appoints Bermingham As Counsel In Luxembourg Office

Global law firm Ogier has named experienced investment fund lawyer James Bermingham to the company’s Luxembourg team as counsel.

Bermingham practised in London and Jersey before moving to Luxembourg, the company said in a statement. His experience covers all areas of advice relating to the structuring, formation, regulation, operation and tax issues affecting all types of regulated and unregulated alternative investment vehicles. 

He has experience in City and offshore law firms and as general counsel of a global asset manager and private equity administration group, is admitted in England and Wales and is registered on List IV in Luxembourg, Ogier added. 

Bermingham joins the growing 35-strong Ogier team in Luxembourg, led by practice partner Francois Pfister. Six partners in the practice are qualified in Luxembourg law.

Ogier provides advice on the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Jersey and Luxembourg law through its network of offices that also includes Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo. Headquartered in Jersey and established in 1867, it is the only firm to advise on these five laws.
