Alternative investment manager CVC Credit Partners has named former JP Morgan senior executive Hamish Buckland as chairman.

In his new role, Buckland will work with the company’s leadership to further develop the business, CVC said in a statement.

Buckland comes aboard from Triton Partners, where he served on the investment committee. Beforehand, he spent 25 years at JPMorgan, where his most recent role was vice chairman of the investment banking business. Previously, he ran JPMorgan's European Leverage Finance business from 2001 to 2008, and was advisor and board director at HM Treasury's Asset Protection Agency.

CVC Credit Partners is the credit management business of private equity giant CVC. Formed through a merger of predecessor firms that date back to 2005 and supported by a team of 51 dedicated investment professionals, the company focuses on sub-investment grade debt across the U.S. and Europe. The firm manages approximately $17.9 billion.
