Alternative fund governance specialist Danesmead Partners has named former Goldman Sachs executive Emma Stevens as a principal of the firm and head of its London office.

In her new position, Stevens will serve as a consultant and independent director to startup and established alternative investment groups, as well as serving as the head of European business development, Danesmead said in a statement.

Stevens was with Goldman Sachs for more than 14 years, during which time she was both an executive director in the prime brokerage consulting group and head of prime brokerage compliance for the EMEA region. In these capacities, Stevens has assisted hedge fund managers across a wide range of business and regulatory areas.

Based in the Cayman Islands, Danesmead is a fund fiduciary services firm established by co-founders Greg Bennett and Nick Gaze in 2014. The company offers independent directors and related governance services to the alternative funds industry.
