IHS Markit has named former Jupiter Asset Management executive Tom Cunningham as chief operating officer for the company’s thinkFolio portfolio modeling and order management system.

In his new role, Cunningham will lead thinkFolio’s product management, services, support and managed service offering, the company said. He will report to Spiros Giannaros, global head of thinkFolio and enterprise data management and the company. The EDM and thinkFolio products have a strong heritage in the buy-side and can be delivered as an integrated, cloud-based managed service, IHS Markit added.

Cunningham brings more than 25 years of experience to his new position. Prior to joining HIS Markit, he was chief technology officer of London-based fund manager Jupiter Asset Management, where he had direct experience using thinkFolio as a client. Beforehand, he was head of front office technology at Columbia Threadneedle Investments.

“I’m delighted to welcome Tom to the growing thinkFolio team,” said Giannaros in a statement. “Tom joins us at an exciting time when we are expanding our presence across regions and investing heavily in the next generation architecture of thinkFolio, as well as adding the solution to our managed service offering.”

Headquartered in London, IHS Markit is a global leader in information, analytics and solutions for the global business, finance and government sectors. The firm serves more than 50,000 key customers in over 140 countries, including 85% of the Fortune Global 500.
