Neuberger Berman Acquires Quant Manager Breton Hill Capital

Fresh of the close of its new $1.1 billion private credit opportunities fund, Neuberger Berman has announced the acquisition of quantitative investment manager Breton Hill Capital.

Based in Toronto, Breton Hall manages approximately $2 billion in quantitative strategies. The company utilizes quantitative research, proprietary technology infrastructure and deep capital markets experience to focus on alternative risk premia and multi-factor solutions spanning equities, currencies, commodities, and rates. 

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, although the Breton Hall team is expected to join Neuberger during the fourth quarter of this year. The company’s investment process will remain in place and led by co-founder Ray Carroll. 

Neuberger Berman was founded in 1939 and managed $271 billion across a wide range of equity, fixed income, private equity and hedge fund strategies for institutions and advisors worldwide as of June 30, 2017.
