The New York Hedge Fund Roundtable has rebranded into the New York Alternative Investment Roundtable as the organization seeks to more accurately represent ethics and best practices across the entire universe of alternative investments, not just within the hedge fund industry.
This name change reflects NYAIR’s evolution into an organization that regularly sheds light on some of the industry’s most important issues and trends, as well as why industry participants should be aware of them, the association said in a statement.
“The new name – The New York Alternative Investment Roundtable – will make it easier for us to get the message out that our organization has always been focused on highlighting timely issues throughout the entire alternative investment arena and keeping our membership apprised of the most important issues within the industry,” said Adam Weinstein, president of the New York Alternative Investment Roundtable.
The move comes only two weeks after the Hedge Fund Standards Board decided to change its name to the Standards Board For Alternative Investments (SBAI) for much the same reason.
Originally founded as the New York Hedge Fund Roundtable in 1999, the NYAIR is a non-profit organization focused on promoting ethics and best practices within the alternative investment industry. The membership consists of investors, fund managers and other industry professionals who regularly meet to discuss current issues within the industry and connect with peers. In addition to industry topics, the Roundtable highlights a different New York City area charity or philanthropy regularly to expose members to organizations that may interest them.
