Alternative investment manager Aquila Capital has strengthened its quantitative investment team with the appointment of former Notenstein La Roche Privatbank executive Fabian Dori as quantitative strategist and portfolio manager.

In his new role, Dori will work within Aquila’s Systematic Trading Group, according to a statement. This team is led by Dr. Egon Rütsche and oversees Aquila Capital’s quantitative strategies investing in liquid financial markets. It was launched in January 2017 and has responsibility for the Aquila Capital risk parity products.

Dori joins Aquila Capital from Notenstein La Roche Privatbank, where he was chief investment officer. He will be reunited at Aquila Capital with Urs Schubiger, Aquila’s head of trading, with whom he worked for more than five years and established a highly successful, multi-year track record in developing and implementing managed futures and cash equity strategies. Beforehand, Dori was a member of the management board and head of portfolio management at 1741 Asset Management. He is a CFA charter holder.

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Hamburg, Aquila Group has more than €6 billion in assets under management deployed across alternative investment solutions in real assets, financial and private markets.
