Ex-BlackRock Exec Grossman Joins Axioma Board Of Directors

Risk management specialist Axioma has announced the election of former BlackRock senior executive Blake Grossman to its board of directors.

Grossman is currently chairman of the board of Financial Engines, a publicly traded provider of financial planning services and professional investment management and advice, Axioma said in a statement. He is a director at a number of other firms, including CamberView Partners, and is a managing partner at early-stage VC’s ThirdStream Partners LLC and CHJ Capital Management LLC.

From 2009 to 2010, Grossman was vice chairman of BlackRock, and was CEO of Barclays Global Investors for seven years prior to its acquisition by BlackRock in 2009. Beforehand, he was CEO & CIO of Barclay’s Global Investors’ Advanced Active Strategies Group since 1992.
