Global long/short equity hedge fund manager Kingdon Capital Management has reportedly promoted strategy and investor relations head Vickram David to president.

In his new role, David will work with the firm's executive committee to run the company’s operations and strategic initiatives, according to an article in Pensions & Investments. He will remain a member of the executive committee and retain his responsibilities as head of strategy and investor relations.

David will report to CEO Mark Kingdon. He joined the firm earlier this year from SRS Investment Management, where he was head of marketing and IR.

Founded in 1983, New York-based Kingdon Capital managed $1.7 billion as of June 30.
