The credit platform of Stockholm-based EQT Partners has held a final close on its third credit opportunities fund, raising €1.3 billion in capital commitments and substantially exceeding its target.

The new fund is named the EQT Credit Opportunities III Fund, the company said in a statement. Like its predecessors, Fund III will focus on medium-term investment opportunities in complex situations via the secondary market and provide creative capital solutions to companies that are unable to access the capital markets. Some 20% of the fund has already been committed, EQT added.

EQT’s credit platform spans senior debt, direct lending and credit opportunities. It has invested approximately €4 billion across approximately 150 companies since inception in 2008. EQT as a whole is a global private equity group with approximately €30 billion in raised capital.
