Integrated treasury management specialist Hazeltree has announced the successful onboarding of Hong Kong-based Ovata Capital Management with the company’s Cash Manager offering, a fully integrated suite within BNY Mellon’s Liquidity DIRECT multi-currency investment platform.

The arrangement enables clients to harness BNY Mellon’s full suite of cash, treasury, collateral, financing, trading and custody services, according to a statement. The combined BNY Mellon-Hazeltree solution will help the Ovata streamline cash management processes and reduce counterparty and operational risks while also improving liquidity and yield.

Hazeltree’s Cash Manager easily aggregates and centralizes cash balances across global counterparties, optimize cash usage and maximizes yield while minimizing currency exposure, the company added.

“This integrated solution allows us full transparency around of our cash balances and margin requirements across all of our counterparties,” said Nicholas Bloom, Ovata Capital’s COO. “Hazeltree provides us with an efficient centralized systematic approach to optimize our treasury function across cash and margin and eliminates the need to use multiple counterparty portals.”

Hazeltree and BNY Mellon announced a joint initiative last September to deliver BNY Mellon's suite of cash, treasury and custody services through Hazeltree's advanced treasury management technology.

Founded last year, Ovata Capital Management is an equity-based multi-strategy hedge fund manager focusing on Asian equity markets. Ovata operates complementary but uncorrelated strategies benefiting from market and structural inefficiencies through short term relative value, event driven, liquidity and catalyst opportunities.

Based in New York, Hazeltree is a leading treasury management solution provider, serving hedge funds, asset managers, fund administrators, insurance companies and pension funds. The company’s integrated treasury management solution includes comprehensive cash management, securities financing, collateral management, counterparty management and margin management capabilities.
