Putnam Investments Hires DeAngelis As Director of Alternatives

Thomas DeAngelis has joined Putnam’s global institutional management team as director of alternatives a week ago, according to the firm in a press release.

DeAngelis will report to Jeff Gould, head of Putnam global institutional management. He will be representing Putnam’s hedge fund capabilities with the institutional marketplace.

Prior to joining the firm, DeAngelis was global head of business development & investor relations at Hutchin Hill Capital. Earlier, he served as managing director, global co-head of marketing & investor relations at Balyasny Asset Management from 2008-2017.

Boston-based Putnam Global Institutional Management is a unit of global asset manager Putnam Investments and offers multi-asset, absolute return and alternative fixed income and equity products. The division’s clients include sovereign wealth funds, endowments and foundations, pension funds, retirement plans and other institutions. Putnam Investments as a whole was founded in 1937 and managed $151 billion in assets as of October 2016.
