Buying the most expensive apartment in Central Park West’s illustrious history was apparently no sweat for Dan Loeb.

The head of activist hedge fund manager Third Point has finally closed on $45 million pied-a-terre at 15 Central Park West, where he’ll be neighbors of Sting, Bob Costas and Denzel Washington. And according to real estate records, he may have paid cash for the nearly 11,000-square-foot penthouse, the New York Observer reports.

No mortgage record was filed with the deed for his pricey new digs, which were officially purchased by a Loeb LLC called Panorama on the Park.

Loeb went to contract on the penthouse, which features panoramic views and a 700-square-foot terrace, in November 2005.
