A pair of former DKR Oasis portfolio managers is planning to launch its own hedge fund, Genesis Capital Management, with some $300 million in assets, FINalternatives has learned.
Genesis is headed by Ethan Benowitz and Danny Sans, who did not return a call for comment before press time. Oasis, a global multi-strategy shop, set up a joint venture with DKR Capital Partners in January 2002, DKR Oasis, which boasted more than US$2.7 billion in assets under management last year.
DKR Oasis invests across the global markets and investment strategies, including long/short equity, corporate financing, capital structure trading, structured private placements, private equity and venture capital, volatility trading and convertible arbitrage.
