Merrill Lynch Loses Key Prime Brokerage Exec. In Asia

Merrill Lynch’s prime brokerage has lost a capital introduction veteran in Asia.

Yvonne Wong, who recently completed a period of maternity leave, has decided to leave the prime brokerage business. She will begin a top job in service provision in Hong Kong when she returns to work in August, Asian Investor reports.

Reportedly the longest-tenured capital introduction expert in Asia, Wong joined Merrill in 2005 as head of capital introduction for the Pacific Rim. She also led the firm’s consulting services effort. Before joining Merrill, Wong worked at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs.

Martin Visairas succeeds Wong on an interim basis, while the firm considers a permanent replacement.
