New York-based Galleon Group plans to open a Singapore office to run its two-year-old Asian long/short equity hedge fund.
The firm is hiring Asian experts for the new office, which will also look into new business ventures, Reuters reports.
Galleon, founded in 1997 by Raj Rajaratnam, manages US$7.5 billion. The Asian fund manages US$1.1 billion.
