Ospraie Adds Energy Team

Aug 11 2006 | 12:00am ET

Ospraie Management has added a team of master limited partnership specialists to its $900 million Ospraie Wingspan platform. The team, Energy Income Partners, is led by James Murchie and Eva Pao, and will invest in energy pipelines, storage and infrastructure as well as income trusts and MLPs, which are publicly-traded vehicles that own midstream energy-related infrastructure assets.

“I have known Jim Murchie professionally and personally for over 10 years and consider him a tremendously talented investment manager,” said Ospraie founder and CEO Dwight Anderson. “He has assembled a great tem which we believe is among the premier investors in the energy MLP space.”

The Energy Income team is the seventh independent manager with a Wingspan allocation. In addition to Murchie and Pao, the team also includes fellow Pequot Capital veteran Linda Longville.
