New York hedge fund Galleon Group is bolstering its new Singapore office with the addition of a city-state banking veteran.

David Lau, the former co-head of financial markets at financial services firm DBS Group, has joined the $7.3 billion hedge fund as a partner and senior portfolio manager. He will co-manage the firm’s Galleon International Fund.

Galleon opened its Singapore office earlier this year. The firm plans to launch several new funds focused on Asia.
