A former Pimco fund manager and a Viking Asset Management principal are joining forces to launch a commodity hedge fund shop.
John Brynjolfsson, who spent almost two decades with Pimco, the world’s largest bond fund manager, has founded Armored Wolf in Aliso Viejo, Calif., where he serves as chief investment officer.
Brynjolfsson is joined by Ronald Solberg as co-portfolio manager. Solberg is a principal at Viking, where he manages a global macro hedge fund.
According to the firm’s Web site, it will invest in real assets around the world using a tactical asset allocation process.
