Indiana Seeks Hedge Fund Consultant

The $17.2 billion Indiana Public Employees Retirement Fund has issued a request for proposals for a hedge fund consultant to help the plan boost its alternatives portfolio.

The fund is looking for a consultant to help develop a direct and fund of hedge funds program on a non-discretionary basis. The consultant will work with the plan’s general consultant, Mercer Investment Consulting, to develop new hedge fund investment policies, and source, conduct due diligence on, and recommend managers to the plan’s board.

Interested firms must have a minimum of three years experience advising pension funds and maintain or have access to a database of domestic and international managers. The term of the contract is five years.
 
The deadline for the RFP, which can be accessed from the plan’s Web site, is July 8.
