Quantitative multi-strategy shop Horton Point Capital Management has appointed Marc Weiden as director of operations, overseeing all fund operations.

Prior to joining Horton Point, Weiden served as the director of operations at Merrill Lynch’s internal $3 billion multi-strategy hedge fund, managing all day-to-day activities. Previously, he spent over 12 years at Soros Fund Management as in the same capacity.

“Marc’s deep expertise in all aspects of operations is a tremendous asset to our firm,” said Dimitri Sogoloff, president and CEO of Horton Point. “His considerable experience has contributed to the operational excellence of two very large hedge fund organizations. We expect that his broad knowledge and management experience will greatly enhance our infrastructure and operational capabilities.”
