Próxima Alfa Investments has recruited Igor Ojereliev from Deutsche Bank to launch the Global Emerging Markets Fund later this year.

At Deutsche Bank, Ojereliev was part of the principal strategies group. Previously he was a manager for the RAB Emerging Markets Debt Fund.

The Madrid, Spain-based hedge fund in April launched Próxima Global Markets, an Irish-domiciled Ucits III fund that employs a fundamental approach with a highly quantitative component, using directional, relative value and volatility strategies, principally on interest rates, foreign exchange and equity indexes.

Próxima was created through an alliance between BBVA and Vega.
