Veritas Launches Multi-Strat Hedge Fund

U.K.-based hedge fund Veritas Asset Management has launched its Real Return Alternative Strategies Fund, a multi-strategy offering, to invest in a range of alternative strategies via talented external fund managers.

The fund, which launched in May with some US$14 million, is global, thematic and seeks below-average levels of volatility, according to the firm. It currently has exposure to volatility, natural resources, distressed, and emerging markets strategies. The portfolio manager is Ian Fridlington.

The Irish-listed fund charges a 1.25% management fee and a 15% performance fee.

The new fund joins Veritas’ existing portfolio of long/short strategies (Real Return Global and Asian Funds) and long-only offerings. The firm was founded in 1993.
