SPM Adds CFO

Jul 15 2008 | 11:58am ET

Stamford, Conn.-based Structured Portfolio Management has hired Ward McGraw as controller and CFO.

McGraw most recently spent 11 years at SS&C Technologies, where he was senior vice president in charge of the company’s alterative investments business unit.  While there, he spearheaded the firm’s entrance into the hedge fund administration business.

“Ward’s extensive knowledge of the special attributes of mortgage backed securities is an invaluable asset for us during these volatile times,” said Don Brownstein, SPM’s CEO.  “We dedicate significant resources to managing our exposure to liquidity and, therefore, leverage. Ward’s addition will further enhance our capabilities. Given current market conditions, it’s imperative that we continue to manage our positions, hedges and risk as effectively as possible.”

SPM was founded in 1997 and focuses on mortgage-backed securities strategies.
