Ex-Goldman, PIMCO Exec. Joins GLG

Jamil Baz, a portfolio manager at PIMCO, is joining GLG Partners as its chief investment strategist where he will work with Driss Ben-Brahim on developing the firm's global macro platform and thematic funds.

Baz was a senior member of PIMCO focused on designing an asset allocation methodology and building macro and micro trading models for major asset classes, including currencies and fixed income. Before PIMCO, he was at Goldman Sachs where he was a managing director in the proprietary trading group.

“Jamil's extensive background in developing asset allocation and trading models, and his unique strategic perspective on the markets make him an important addition for GLG,” said co-CEO Manny Roman. “We look forward to the broad insight he will bring to our overall business.”
