Real estate hedge fund shop Sorin Capital Management has hired Brian DiDonato as a senior partner and member of the firm’s investment committee. DiDonato will be responsible for commercial real estate debt, equity and special-situation investments.
Before joining Sorin, DiDonato was president and chief investment officer of Capmark Investments, a global real estate fund manager with over $10 billion of real estate debt and equity investments.
“Brian and I have known each other for over 10 years and share a common vision for opportunistic investing in today’s volatile real estate and credit markets,” said Jim Higgins, founder of Sorin Capital. “Brian has great industry relationships and is an important addition to our existing investment team, which has deep experience across all disciplines of credit sensitive investing.”
Stamford, Conn.-based Sorin Capital Management currently manages $1.4 billion in a variety of fixed income and real estate securities.
