Yvonne Wong, the former long-time capital introductions chief at Merrill Lynch’s Asian prime brokerage, has joined hedge fund Thaddeus Capital as chief operations officer.
In her new role—her first on the buyside—Wong will oversee service provider relationships, operations, investor relations, compliance and legal services. Hong Kong-based Thaddeus is currently closed to new investors, so Wong will not yet get to employ her many years of capital introduction experience in her new post.
Wong left Merrill in April after a period of maternity leave. Reportedly Asia’s longest-tenured capital introductions expert at the time, Wong had also worked for Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley in prime brokerage.
