The hedge fund industry pays better than journalism, and so another veteran reporter has fled for greener pastures.
Karen Richardson, erstwhile reporter and columnist for The Wall Street Journal, has taken a job as a research analyst for Greenwich, Conn.-based Plainfield Asset Management, Hedge Fund Net reports.
Richardson’s move comes just after that of Dane Hamilton, the former hedge fund reporter for Reuters, who went to work for Carl Icahn. Unlike Richardson, Hamilton will remain a reporter, contributing pieces to Icahn’s blog.
Plainfield manages some $4.8 billion.
