Description: A New York City-based venture capital firm with a focus on investments in healthcare and medical technology is seeking an Accountant to assist with the management of its funds and business operations. This position, which reports directly to the Controller, is a challenging, hands-on role for the professional who is self-motivated and has the ability and desire to work for a successful firm in a small work environment.

Responsibilities include accounting and financial reporting for funds, general partner entities and Management Company; LP allocations (book & tax), LP reporting, compliance, audits, tax preparation, budgeting, LP and Portfolio Company communications, analytical projects and some operational tasks.

Additionally, the Accountant will assist Partners with special projects and analysis as needed. You will also have an opportunity to sit in on investment meetings!!

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-3 years relevant experience, preferably in a public accounting firm with an emphasis on tax preparation and/or financial statement analysis and preparation.
• Prior accounting experience with a venture capital firm and small company start-ups is preferred, but not required.
• CPA a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with investment partnership accounting, tax compliance, and GAAP reporting standards.
• Proficiency with multiple software applications (Peachtree, PowerPoint, TNR, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
