Rosemount Capital Management is shipping offshore.
The Wood Creek Capital Management affiliate launched its offshore fund on Aug. 1 to meet offshore demand for trade finance exposure. Rosemount’s onshore fund has originated more than $500 million in primary market loans, as well as transacting more than $1.2 billion in primary- and secondary-market deals, since it was seeded by Wood Creek in December 2005.
The offshore fund will be run from Rosemount’s Dublin, Ireland, office.
“The launch of Rosemount Global Trade Finance’s new offshore fund is a significant step in realizing the long-term market opportunity Wood Creek Capital sees in facilitating cross-border trade through non-traditional sources of capital,” Wood Creek CEO Brett Hellerman said. “The fact that it comes at an unusually difficult time for alternative investments in general and hedge funds in particular, speaks to our long-term commitment to this strategy and to Rosemount.”
