FrontPoint Hires Andor Vet To Lead Tech. Team

Sep 10 2008 | 11:11am ET

FrontPoint Partners has added a technology investment team headed by a former Andor Capital portfolio manager.

The Morgan Stanley-owned hedge fund shop hired Mark Bertagnolli this month to lead its 16th investment team, according to an internal memo. Bertagnolli joins from Andor, where he most recently served as communications sector head. Prior to joining Andor, he covered broadband communications semiconductor companies as an analyst at Salomon Smith Barney.

At FrontPoint, Bertagnolli and his New York- and California-based team of analysts will manage a long/short equity strategy focused on the global technology sector. The concentrated portfolio will use a fundamental research approach.
