AIG Hired Alts. Head For Europe

AIG Global Investment Group has hired Ion Bogdaneris as managing director of Alternative Investments Europe.

In this position, Bogdaneris will oversee a wide range of alternative investment strategies for AIGGIG.  He will be located in AIGGIG’s London office and report to New York-based Robert Thompson, senior managing director and head of global alternative investments.

Bogdaneris joins AIGGIG from The Blackstone Group, where he served as senior advisor in the London office.  Prior to Blackstone, Bogdaneris served as chief executive officer of The Kistefos Group, a privately controlled Norwegian investment group with a $750 million portfolio consisting of publicly-listed, private equity and venture capital investments.
