Blackstone Hires Insurance Industry Vet

The Blackstone Group today has hired John Cavoores to serve as a senior advisor in the firm’s private equity group.  Most recently, Cavoores, a 27-year veteran of the insurance industry, was the chief executive officer of OneBeacon Insurance Group.

Prakash Melwani, senior managing director at Blackstone, commented, “We are excited to welcome John to the Blackstone team. His extensive background in insurance both in the United States and abroad will be an invaluable asset to our private equity team.”
