Oregon Issues RFP For Alts. Advisor

The Oregon Investment Council has issued an RFP for an alternative equity investment advisor for the Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund. According to the RFP, applicants must have experience providing alternative equity consulting to clients with portfolio assets of at least $1 billion. The primary consultant assigned to the OPERF account must also have a minimum of three years of experience providing alternatives consulting services to pension plans.

As of June 30, OPERF had over 139 investments in the alternatives portfolio totaling over $14 billion of committed capital. There are currently 125 active investment funds in the portfolio, totaling $5.4 billion (as of June 30).

The RFP is available on the council’s Web site (http://www.ost.state.or.us/news/RFP/). Proposals are due Nov. 8.
