Prime brokerage firm Merlin Securities is beefing up its front line with the addition of a former Bear Stearns managing director.
Michael Tumulty is set to start at Merlin’s New York office on Wednesday, where he will lead the firm’s account executive service team.
Most recently, Tumulty was with Merrill Lynch, where he headed up client services for the firm’s global prime brokerage in the Americas. Prior to that, he was a managing director at Bear Stearns for 17 years.
In addition to Tumulty, Merlin has recenlty added three account executives to handle its rapidly growing client base. The technology-driven prime brokerage firm said it has taken on 35 new funds in the last 30 days, and expects to see another 70 on its roster by year’s end.
