Oct 16 2008 | 9:29am ET

Simone Lowe has joined hedge fund Thames River as assistant fund manager. She comes to the U.K.-based multi-strategy hedge fund shop from Blue Ink Investments in Cape Town, South Africa, where she served as a portfolio manager.

Lowe will help manage Thames River’s new fund of hedge funds, which is reportedly launching in the first quarter of 2009. The firm will also debut an Asia-Pacific offering at the same time. She will work closely with Ken Kinsey-Quick, the head of multi-manager at Thames River, to research opportunities in sub-Saharan Africa from London before returning to Cape Town, where she will be based.
