Technology-focused private equity shop Vista Equity Partners has closed its third fund with approximately $1.3 billion in capital commitments. Vista Equity Partners Fund III is the firm’s first institutional fund, with investors including pension funds, corporate investors, funds of hedge funds and high-net worth individuals.

Vista focuses on investments in middle-market enterprise software and technology businesses.

“Despite widespread problems in the financial markets, we found our investors' appetite remains strong for experienced investment teams with differentiated approaches and proven strategies,” said Robert Smith, managing principal at Vista.
