London-based Prestige Asset Management plans to launch an alternative energy fund of hedge funds next year.
The firm, which is operated by a specialist team within brokerage ODL Securities, is currently running the strategy in a managed account basis, according to a source within the firm. “There are plans to launch a fund version of this stategy in 2009 if and when seed money or strategic investors become available,” he said.
The firm also has a precious metals hedge fund in the offing.
Prestige in September launched the Legends Fund, a multi-strategy fund of funds, which finished its first month down 4.19%.
