Octane Names N.Y.-Based COO

Switzerland-headquartered fund-of-hedge funds manager Octane Management has named James Canales as chief operating officer. Canales, who previously held the same role at Parker Global Strategies, will be based in firm's New York office. Prior to his position at Parker, he served as partner at Aletheia Research and Management.

Octane, which has non-U.S. institutional clients, has approximately $850 million in assets under management and has offices in Switzerland, New York, London and Johannesburg.
