Private equity giant the Carlyle Group has named Christopher Dodds senior adviser to its global financial services group, effective Nov.1. Dodds is based in San Francisco and will help Carlyle find investment opportunities in the financial services sector.
Dodds retired as chief financial officer of The Charles Schwab Corp. in May 2007 after 21 years with the firm.
Carlyle established its Global Financial Services Group in June 2007 and the team completed its first investment in August 2008 with a $75 million investment in wealth management firm Boston Private Financial Holdings.
