Matthew Hoffman, founding partner of fund of hedge funds firm Mayer & Hoffman Capital Advisors, has joined Weston Capital Management as chief investment officer. Hoffman began working at the Westport, Conn.-based alternative asset manager on Monday.
Scott Wilson, director of marketing at Weston, said that in his new role, Hoffman will oversee all of the investment activities across all of the firm’s products. “We are pleased that we were able to get Matt to join the company,” he said.
Prior to founding Mayer & Hoffman, Hoffman was responsible for hedge fund manager selection and portfolio creation at Credit Suisse First Boston.
Meanwhile, Hoffman’s former firm, now known as MayerCap, has named Eldon Mayer as the new CIO (FINalternatives 10/13).
