Private equity shop General Atlantic has hired Fernando Marques Oliveira as a managing director and head of its São Paulo, Brazil, office and Latin American program. Oliveira will lead GA's investment activity in the region.
Oliveira has been an active investor in the private equity industry in Brazil since 1997, most recently as a director of Grupo Icatu, a family investment office.
“Fernando brings a wealth of regional knowledge and an excellent track record investing in growth companies in Brazil,” said Rene Kern, managing director.
Founded in 1980, GA currently manages approximately $15 billion in total assets.
