$10K Statue Stolen From Madoff’s Estate

A 4-foot-high statue worth more than $10,000 was stolen from Bernard Madoff’s estate in Palm Beach eight days after he was arrested in New York in connection with operating a $50 billion Ponzi scheme.

The missing copper statue portrays two lifeguards sitting on a bench.

“The property manager left the residence one afternoon, and when she returned, she noticed a statue that was normally kept by the pool was missing," Palm Beach police Sgt. Richard Sorge told CNN.

Sorge said investigators have "no leads, not a single clue" in the investigation of the heist.

Madoff has been freed on $10 million bail, but is under house-arrest at his Manhattan apartment, a move that has many of Madoff’s alleged victims extremely irate.
