Owen Lamont, a professor of finance at the Yale School of Management, is joining asset management firm DKR Fusion as a portfolio manager.

Stamford, Conn.-based DKR Fusion, the systematic trading unit of $3.7 billion DKR Capital, has brought Lamont onboard to help run a soon-to-be launched equity market neutral hedge fund.

The new vehicle, which will be managed by a group of academics led by Pascal Magnollay, is the fourth offering by the Fusion team, which now has approximately $830 million in assets under management.

Lamont, who joined Yale in 2003 from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, is a specialist in short-selling.
