Private equity firm Morgenthaler has appointed Kevin Macdonald as co-managing partner overseeing all aspects of the firm’s private equity activities. Macdonald's remit covers existing portfolio companies, new investments, strategy formulation and franchise development; he will be based in the firm's Boston office.

Previously, Macdonald was a founder and managing partner of Monitor Clipper Partners, a US$2 billion middle market investment firm based in Cambridge, Mass.

“He has an exceptional personal track record and investment history, with direct experience in our primary areas of focus,” said co-managing partner Al Stanley.

Morgenthaler focuses on investing in the manufacturing and business services sectors in the lower end of the middle market - with enterprise values of US$25 million to US$250 million.
